Riffin’ Away

I was feelin’ like a little bad ass and the heat in this place is unbearable.
Sweltering.

The fans are on and it helps to cool.
I don’t know what it is about intense heat but it sends me into a frenetic rage.

How’s this for a riff?:

2nd string, 15th fret (D) – ring finger.

2nd string, 15th fret (D) – middle finger.
1st string, 17th fret (B) – ring finger.
1st string, 15th fret (A) – middle finger.
2nd string, 17th fret (E) – ring finger.
2nd string, 15th fret (D) – middle finger.
3rd string, 16th fret (B) – ring finger.
3rd string, 14th fret (A) – index finger (slide down to G on 3rd string without removing index finger off fret board and finish with):

Surprise:
4th string, 14th fret (E) – ring finger 🙂 And then back to the top with various variations of listening pleasure.

36 notes in all for this riff (9 bars of 4).

Try using a moderate paced bluesy tempo for the riff (somewhere between 80-100bpm should be fine).
It’s real to curl that pinky back and forth between the 1st and 2nd string (especially on the 10th fret and 15th fret). It’s like trying to perform a sophisticated dance.
Are you a sophist?

Let me know if you likey…
