Don’t Over-complicate Food

September 13th, 2017 No comments

Celery, hummus, olives, blue cheese, cashews, light crackers, fruit (strawberries and pineapple), peppers, mixed greens, avocado…these are just a few foods you can eat to make a stride toward a balanced diet and a healthier lifestyle. There doesn’t have to be any magic in the preparation of food. You can eat these foods nibble by nibble and savor every bite with very little effort. You don’t have to drizzle this or drizzle that.

Not every meal has to have fancy sauces and exotic herbs. Mind you, if you’re at Jake’s in Del Mar, California you just have to try the ‘Seafood Pot’. My God! The saffron! But aside for Jake’s and the exquisite chefs there, you don’t need to over-complicate things. Just keep it simple. Buy simple groceries. Don’t waste too much money on food. It isn’t worth it.

I’m not saying to starve yourself but eat in moderation. Take a handful of this and a handful of that and keep on going with you day. Simple.

What’s your slant on food? I’d love to know.

It’d be great to hear from you,
